AMOLED industry status: the market gradually heating Samsung dominate production capacity

AMOLED market seems to have signs of gradually warming. According to reports, in 2009 the market size of AMOled for small and medium size screen of about $21 billion 800 million, is expected to reach $23 billion 800 million this year.

DigiTimes estimates, 2015 shipments of consumer electronic products will reach 2 times in 2010, so if the overall market growth is estimated in small and medium size AMOLED screen market size will exceed $50 billion.

Experts pointed out that the main bottleneck in the production of AMOLED production capacity is insufficient, but also led to the downstream mobile phone manufacturers worried due to supply problems and not fully in the product using AMOLED. Experts believe that the AMOLED production line depreciation period is longer, and the productivity growth period is LCD longer, this feature makes the key to winning the future AMOLED war, will be decided in advance into the AMOLED production line, and master the LTPS process technology manufacturers. At present in the AMOLED industry, only Samsung Electronics have the ability to mass production, as LG, AUO and Chi Mei and other manufacturers are actively planning to set up the production line, is expected to the end of this year or next year to mass production. So Samsung in the field of AMOLED, can be said to be far ahead of other competitors.
