1A charge pump is suitable for camera flash LED

Austria microelectronics company (austriamicrosystems AG) 1A intelligent charge pump released the industry's first mobile phone for photographic flash LED - AS3682 and AS3683. These two high current charge pump can provide 480mA and 1A output current for flash LED, respectively.

Due to automatic mode switching 1x/1.5x and 2x mode, and through its ultra low dropout current absorber, the two IC peak efficiency reached 95% (PLed/Pin). Their 6 current absorbers can work in parallel with the independent LED in parallel to drive a single high output LED.

Through the serial interface, using soft flash (soft flash), or by a single parallel interface, using hard flash (hard flash) mode, the output current of the device can be adjusted from 15mA to 1A. The hard flash mode is realized by a 3 pin on / off function, so that only two control wires can be used to realize the different current requirements of the preview and the flash.

The charge pump operates at a fixed frequency of 1MHz, only two transfer capacitance. In addition, the AS3682 has two programmable universal I/O (GPIO), a limiting inrush current, overvoltage protection, thermal shutdown, as well as the soft start function components to achieve zero LED current when closed. AS3682 features a space saving 4 x 4mm QFN24 package. The company can also provide assessment kits based on customer requirements.
