AUO: currently no Micro LED display product roadmap

According to reports, AU Optronics (AUO) said that although has successfully developed technology, but the company is still not micro LED display specific product roadmap and production schedule.

During the SID Display Week exhibition in 2018 near the end of the show's TFT drive 8 inch micro LED display device prototype and other advanced display products and technology. During the micro LED display also was awarded the "best display medium product categories (Best in Show Award exhibits" award).

Company data show that micro LED uses LTPS-TFT technology AUO backplane, independent lighting of each pixel, and realize the image more delicate, and has high dynamic range and energy saving advantages.

AUO said that the size of less than 30 micron micro LED can achieve high pixel density up to 169ppi, and can produce better and more accurate in integration with other color conversion technology of color.

The company president and chief operating officer Michael Tsai said that this award is a testament to the leading position in the field of advanced display technology AUO accumulated over the years, and will promote the development of innovative technology to display auo.
