An introduction of the three output LED driver drives up to 24 500mA LED

An 2MHz company launched DC/DC converter LT3496, the design of the device to be used as a 3 channel constant current LED driver to enhance the brightness of the flash drive ">LED mobile phone camera. Each channel of the LT3496 can drive up to 8 500mA LED in series, so the device can drive up to 24 500mA LED with an efficiency of up to 96%. All 3 channels operate independently of the True Color PWMTM signal, so that each channel can be independently adjusted with a dimming ratio of up to 3000:1. Fixed frequency, current mode architecture ensures stable operation over a wide supply voltage and output voltage range. The frequency regulation pin enables the user to program the frequency in the 330kHz to 2.1MHz range to optimize efficiency while minimizing the external component size. The thermally enhanced 4mmx5mm QFN package allows the LT3496 to be a very compact solution for the composition of the 50W LED area of the board area.

LT3496 in the high-end detection of LED output current, can achieve buck, buck - boost or boost configuration. The user can program the output current range for each channel with an external sense resistor. Each of the 3 independent drive channels has an internal 750mA, 45V NPN switch, and a built-in gate driver for PMOS disconnect. Other features include LED open circuit protection and thermal limits.
