Apple QLED+OLED patents, display color will be more pure"

According to AppleWorld news August 3rd, Apple Corp has successfully applied for "Quantum dot LED (QLED) and OLED are integrated in the display of the patent (No. 20170221969), the patent describes in a quantum dot devices to achieve the pixel display technology, this technology can make the display show less color and consume more" pure "the electricity.

In the current QLED TV, display material in increasing the brightness of LCD through the case of quantum dots, also can achieve the purpose of saving energy, QLED is used in inorganic materials for mature, longer fluorescence lifetime. However, quantum dots in this patent of the apple display with the existing commercial products display some differences, QLED talked about the patent, or semiconductor quantum crystal as the electro-optical display, this technology can provide an alternative to current commercial applications.

This technology is very similar to the light emitting diode (OLED) display technology, the display light is needed to launch, which makes the display can have more perfect color effect, and Apple also put this technology as OLED technology. But this concept still need to test.

Apple Corp also pointed out in the patent, it will use the glass substrate and thin film crystal (TFT) of the mobile phone, tablet computer, desktop computer and TV equipment to use the backlight control and display technology. If after the introduction of OLED display in patents in these devices, the screen would be faster and the corresponding time, dark or black pixels are closed, so as to achieve the purpose of energy saving screen.

Recently, quantum dot light-emitting diode (QD-LED) has been used as a substitute for display technology, but OLED's performance will be better. This invention also relates to a method for Apple OLED and QD-LED stack.
