Apple black science and technology screen exposure using LED light control iPhone

United States Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) in February 3rd awarded the Apple Corp (hereinafter referred to as apple) a new patent, the technology allows Apple users to separate the control screen.

This patented technology called "close and multi touch sensor detection and demodulation, patent No. 9250734, can be matched by near distance sensor and traditional multi touch screen, the user control area extended to the screen, so as to detect non-contact gesture.

To some extent, the patented technology and apple iPhone 6S in the introduction of the 3D Touch touch pressure technology after some similar, but the opposite direction. 3D Touch measures the user's downward touch strength, while the new 3D suspension gesture controls the action of the user to measure the patent over the screen.

For a long time, the industry has been studying non-contact interaction, such as through the camera and other specific optical system for long-distance gesture control. Apple's new patent technology is a better solution for iPhone, MacBook and other portable devices.

Specifically, apple recommends the use of infrared LED and photodiode, as iPhone for the detection of the user's head near infrared sensing module. The light generated by the LED is irradiated on the user's finger and is captured by the photodiode after returning. By deploying a plurality of sensors, the system can detect fingers, palm and other objects suspended over the screen.

Technology blog AppleInsider believes that in the short term apple is not possible to apply the technology to iPhone and other devices. Because the 3D Touch technology at present is only being applied to Apple's own application, many third party application developers have yet to make full use of 3D Touch technical expertise, at the launch of another new control technology will only make developers more confused.

The technology patent application was filed by apple in March 2015, the inventor of Steven Holt (Steven P.) and (Hotelling) and Krah (Christoph H.).
