BOE (BOE) developed 5 inches AMQLED display products

Recently, BOE (BOE) developed 5 inch active electroluminescent quantum dot light emitting display products (AMQLED), which is BOE (BOE) taking charge of the Ministry of science and technology of national key development plan "quantum dot light-emitting display project" Research on key materials and device results. Different from the way LCD backlight uses quantum dot material to expand the gamut, the product directly uses inkjet printing technology to produce electroluminescent quantum dot emitting devices (QLED) to achieve full-color display, with a color gamut of more than 100%.

A quantum dot is a very small semiconductor crystal consisting of only a few atoms. The quantum dot material that absorbs energy can be excited to emit light, and different colors of light can be realized by controlling the size of the quantum dots. Based on this property, quantum dot technology is mainly used in quantum dot backlight technology and active quantum dot LED (AMQLED).

LCD product itself can not shine, LED and so on as a backlight to achieve the display, the market earlier on the emergence of quantum dot TV, that is, the use of quantum dot backlight technology LCD tv. Quantum dot backlight technology is a quantum dot material instead of the traditional LED backlight phosphor phosphor layer, made with quantum film LED backlight, its display color than traditional LED backlight TV can be increased by more than 30%.

Compared with the quantum dot backlighting technology, active electroluminescent quantum dot light-emitting display (AMQLED) without backlight, the injected current can make the quantum dot light emitting display device, the structure is similar to that of active organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED), in comparison, although the different light, AMQLED light source from the organic light emitting materials for the inorganic quantum dots, but compared to AMOLED, AMQLED is generally considered to have potential advantages of long service life, wide color gamut, low cost, is widely considered to be displayed after AMOLED technology is more subversive, especially in large size active light emitting display field, there will be more competitive.

At present, the development of quantum dot technology is still in its infancy.
