British Novartis microelectronics LED constant current driver chip IV0101

Innova Microelectronics (INNOVA) launched specifically for LED lighting design of high efficiency DC power supply based on PFM/PWM converter chip before the chip is a low voltage constant current output DC/DC converter chip, constant current output can provide 0.5W, integrated synchronous rectifier and a switch tube, only few external components. It combines the characteristics of LED lighting and charging the battery in use, in addition to the necessary LED driver such as soft start, over-voltage and over-current protection function and so on, with low pressure (UVLO), high and low self potential output induction automatic conversion function. Ideally suited for LED applications in single charge batteries and alkaline battery applications.

Low voltage of the chip has the self-locking function can effectively prevent the battery over discharge caused by the damage to the battery, so as to ensure the battery life, while avoiding the flicker phenomenon in the battery is about to run out of time.

High and low potential induction automatic output conversion is a function designed according to the battery discharge curve, its purpose is to keep the constant current output, prolong the battery life, and Simulation of battery discharge curve output due to the attenuation phenomenon, when reducing the output voltage of the battery to 1.15V, the circuit will output current adjusted to the normal output current 55%, thereby reducing the power consumption, prolong the time of lighting system. The chip also uses 100mV feedback voltage to detect the output current, which controls the loss of the current sense resistor.

In addition, 2 chips can be provided in parallel to the output power of 1W.

The device is currently available in 3.9 mm x 4.9 mm 8 pin SSOP package. (according to customer requirements for DFN packaging)
