British "howling" 20 million pound LED lighting upgrade

British families are likely to offer free LED lighting for supermarkets and airports to pay millions of pounds, according to a plan to reduce British electricity consumption by the UK Department of energy.

Ed Davey, the British Ministry of energy minister, recently announced the implementation of a $20 million ($34 million 200 thousand) taxpayer cash tracking scheme to provide funds for enterprises to upgrade energy efficiency including replacing traditional lighting with LED bulbs, which will be used in places where LED is not prepaid.

Davey says companies can compete for funds to compete for the entire installation through all or part of the subsidy, which will help create a cheaper energy bill.

About 300 organizations, including hospitals, airports and supermarkets, are interested in the pilot, the UK's energy and climate change department (DECC) says.

The aim of the plan is to reduce national electricity demand, alleviate the risk of power outage, and avoid the construction of more power plants. If successful, the relevant cash will continue to be provided. (translation /LEDinside Nicole)
