Catalyst latest LDO CAT4004 driver for LED

Analog and mixed signal devices and nonvolatile memory supplier Catalyst semiconductor company announced the launch of new 4 channel LDD (low dropout LED drive) device CAT4004, the device for power sensitive portable devices in those emerging from the battery directly driven LED application.

With the further reduction of the forward voltage of the white LED, a large number of portable applications begin to adopt the method of directly driving LED from the system battery, rather than the way of boosting the battery voltage. CAT4004 is specifically designed for this new type of application, the pressure difference is only 130mV, when the battery voltage drops significantly when the CAT4004 can maximize the LED to meet the required performance requirements.

Even if access to different voltage LED, CAT4004 LDD can still achieve positive / negative current 5% accurate matching, CAT4004 and LDD can also through the single EZDim interface on LED current programming system, micro controller with only one output pin can be realized on / off and adjust the brightness of LED. CAT4004 can adjust the LED current 6: 100%, 50%, 25%, 12.5%, and 3%.
