Comparison of energy efficiency standards for lighting products in the United States, Europe and china!

LED (Light Emitting Diode, LED) as a new type of lighting products, has been widely used in various fields of lighting. In order to strengthen energy conservation management, promote energy conservation technology progress, improve energy efficiency, many countries in the world to LED lighting energy efficiency standards have been carried out one after another. China in January 2008 third announced the implementation of energy efficiency logo products will start lighting products into energy management approach, while the United States is mainly in the energy star energy efficiency (ES) of LED lighting in the EU certification requirements of LED lighting energy efficiency requirements are mainly embodied in the framework of the "energy products directive Eco design requirements" (ErP directive).

1 China energy efficiency standards

In recent years, in order to adapt to the development of LED lighting industry, our country has stepped up the research on the LED lighting product standards, and set the standards of energy efficiency and performance for non directional self ballasted LED lamps.

1.1 non directional self ballasted LED lamp energy efficiency requirements

According to the provisions of GB30255-2013, directional self ballasted LED lamp light and the half light into all two types of light / quasi all non efficiency of the standard, the initial luminous efficiency level according to the different value (lm/W) were divided into three grades, details are shown in table 1.

1.2 non directional self ballasted LED lamp performance requirements

The performance of non directional self ballasted LED lamps shall be in accordance with the requirements of GB/T24908. The performance of the LED lamp is evaluated from the aspects of the lamp power, the power factor, the initial luminous efficiency / flux, the color characteristics, the life and the electromagnetic compatibility characteristics of the GB/T24908-2014. The standard will also be the initial light effect of the lamp is divided into three levels, as shown in table 2.

It is not difficult to see from table 1 and table 2 that the limits of GB30255-2013 on the energy efficiency rating of non directional self ballasted LED lamps are higher than those specified by GB/T24908-2014. The manufacturer shall, at the same time, refer to the above two standards for the energy efficiency labeling of the product, and the energy efficiency grade shall be in accordance with the limits of GB30255-2013.

2 EU energy efficiency standards

The EU ErP directive specifies the general ecological requirements and special ecological requirements of energy consuming products.

2.1 LED lamp energy efficiency rating

The European Union (EU) No 874/2012 labelling regulations of incandescent lamp, fluorescent lamp, high intensity discharge lamp, LED lamp and the lamp module and lamp and sales to end users of energy efficiency classes and energy efficiency labels are clearly defined. The regulations will be divided into two types of directional lights and non directional lights, and its energy efficiency index EEI (Energy Efficiency Index), as shown in table 3.

Energy efficiency index (EEI) calculation, such as formula 1.

EEI=Pcor/Pref (type 1)

Pcor: the rated power (Prated) of the lamp at rated input voltage. For LED lights, if the use of external control device, the Prated need to multiply a coefficient of 1.1; in other cases, Pcor is equal to the value of Prated.

Pref: is the reference power of the lamp, the effective luminous flux (phi use) of the lamp is calculated by the formula 2 or formula 3.

The effective luminous flux of 1300 use< diameter LM: Pref =0.88 use +0.049 use (Phi Phi V 2)

The effective luminous flux of 1300 use diameter greater than or equal to LM: Pref =0.07341 use (3)

2.2 non directional household LED lamp requirements

(EC) No 244/2009 regulations will LED lamp is divided into transparent and opaque LED lamp LED lamp two, LED lamp energy represented by the maximum rated power of Pmax, maximum rated power and luminous flux Pmax lamp (PHI), under the specific requirements are shown in table 4.

2.3 directional LED lamp energy efficiency requirements

(EU) No 1194/2012 regulations will be divided into directional LED lights and non directional LED lights of the top two categories, but the regulations only directed LED lamp energy efficiency provisions. Directional LED lamp maximum energy efficiency index (EEI) since September 1, 2013, not more than 0.50, from September 1, 2016 can not exceed 0.20. At the same time, the regulations from the lamps 6000 hours survival rate and light flux, switching frequency, start-up time, achieve 95% flux preheating time, premature loss of efficiency, color rendering index, color consistency and power factor of the nine indicators of the LED light ecological performance was required.

EU energy efficiency standards from the point of view, the EU ErP directive currently only for non directional LED lamp energy efficiency requirements. The requirement of ecological design of directional LED lamp should be consistent with the provisions of No 194/2012 (EU), the maximum rated power non directional LED lamp (EC) shall comply with the provisions of No244/2009, and the LED lamp energy efficiency grading and marking shall be in accordance with the provisions of No 874/2012 (EU).

3 U.S. energy efficiency standards

Energy star is a product of energy efficiency certification program, the U.S. Department of energy and the environmental protection department jointly launched, the plan of residential lighting fixtures in LED light engine, integral LED lamp energy efficiency and related performance of detailed provisions, conforms to the standards of the products can be affixed to the energy star label.

3.1 LED light engine energy efficiency requirements

Energy Star residential lighting certification program (4.2 Edition) in the use of LED light engine (LED Light Engine) residential indoor or outdoor lighting energy efficiency requirements. The light effect of the LED light engine without cover is greater than 50lm/W, and the light effect of the LED light engine with hood is greater than 40lm/W.

3.2 integral LED lamp energy efficiency requirements

"Energy Star integral LED lamp certification program (1.4 Edition)" for integral LED lamps light efficiency, luminous flux, light
