DOE: white light adjustable light LED lamp detection methods need to be improved

China LED Reuters] U.S. Department of energy's CALiPER plans to publish the latest report: the white light adjustable LED lamps for light and color test, which is the first time to carry out the investigation of color LED lamps. The main purpose of this study is to standardize the test of adjustable white light LED lamp products required test items. Under this premise, to define a clear specification, it is necessary to identify the necessary test items, and to explore the feasibility and extensive applicability. The test was a total of 8 white adjustable light fixtures, mainly for different aspects of the test, including the color range (CCT) and dimming (luminous flux).

The report mainly detect complete flux measurement, in a certain range of temperature, a total set of 11 benchmark points, if the reference point set is too small, will not be able to detect the color of the product and input, lumens, light effect, color deviation Duv. Test results show that the future of the test program may require at least 5 to 7 benchmarks, in order to detect a clear product placement. Increasing the detection procedure may be a burden on the manufacturer, but it can be used to shorten the time required to measure different sets of readings by using a simplified stability measurement process.

The report raises questions about the existing testing methods and the feasibility of using such products, which will be discussed in the near future. For more details, download the full report to the U.S. Department of energy's website. (Chinese LED net Emmachang)
