Daylight color temperature Silk, intelligent lamp body clock

According to the Tencent digital news, had a profound impact on the light of human civilization development, but its effect on the human body is another matter. More and more scientific evidence shows that artificial light destroys the circadian clock responsible for the daily rhythm of the human body. Fortunately, bulb makers are now trying to solve the problem - not just PHILPS and Ge, of course.

LED light maker Saffron is the latest company to join the camp. According to reports, Saffron local time on June 23rd began to raise Silk Light project financing on the public website Kickstarter. Silk Light is an application controlled white LED lamp that regulates its color temperature to avoid damaging the natural sleep / wake cycle of the human body. According to Saffron, Silk Light emits an exciting cold light during the day and gives a warm glow at night, close to 24 cycles of natural light.

Urban lifestyle allows people to enjoy limited natural light, which can cause circadian rhythms to be disturbed because the body's internal clock is precisely tuned for 24 hours of day / night cycles. To add insult to injury, many of the devices with screens around us emit blue light that inhibits melatonin secretion and inhibits sleep. Some researchers and Saffron and other manufacturers believe that the answer to this problem is to let the light bulb simulate sunlight changes in color temperature and brightness over the course of the day.

Can you accomplish this task by using existing smart light bulbs that support color temperature regulation? Maybe, but it's very difficult. Silk Light and its supporting applications are specially developed to solve this problem. The user can follow the default plan, and can also set the brightness and color temperature of the bulb (or bulb) at different times of the week. Users can even set up Silk Light according to specific activities.

"It's our nClick technology that makes us different from other bulbs," Saffron said in an email to TechHive. With our unique nClick system, users can change the settings of light bulbs by pressing 1 or 2 light switches, and Silk Light does not require users to increase wiring or install other components.

According to Saffron, users can use the Silk application to specify the specific mode of the switch press mode (to support any standard wall switch). For example, users can specify the two switch activation of rest and relaxation mode; also, press the three switch can activate the exercise mode, a lamp exciting, bright light at the beginning, with the exercise near the end of the transition to the relaxing light.

Silk Light uses the ZigBee wireless network protocol to communicate with smartphones via a ZigBee-WiFi bridge. Silk Light brightness equivalent to 60 watt incandescent lamp, energy consumption of 12 watts, luminous flux of 800 lumens. The color temperature range of Silk Light is 2700K-6000K. A suit containing 3 Silk Light light bulbs and 1 bridges is priced at $99 (about 605 yuan) on Kickstarter. Saffron plans to finance $100 thousand (about 610 thousand yuan).
