Do not turn on the lights on the first solar LED bulbs debut

LED lighting industry believes that in the next few years will become the mainstream of household lighting to replace incandescent lamps. Recently, the Hongkong manufacturer Nokero announced a solar powered LED bulb Nokero N100, known as the world's first.

The size of the Nokero N100 is basically the same as the standard incandescent bulb, with a diameter of 70mm and a height of 125mm. Its waterproof plastic shell is equipped with 4 small solar panels, built-in 5 light-emitting diodes and a replaceable nickel metal hydride batteries.

The solar bulb can be fully charged after four hours, a day after the sun is generally available for about 2 hours. Of course, the specific charge is also affected by the weather, season and latitude, the more close to the equator, the better the charging conditions. Nokero on behalf of Tom Boyd said that the life expectancy of LEDs at 50 thousand -10 hours, the life of solar panels in the past 10 years, so that the life expectancy of Nokero N100 in the period of 5 to 10 years.

As some of the backward areas are still using the old kerosene lamp, Nokero has now been extended to some countries in africa. Compared with kerosene lamps, Nokero N100 can reduce annual carbon dioxide emissions by 550 pounds, although it is unclear the brightness, but Nokero said its brightness is 5 times of kerosene, energy consumption is 1/200 of the latter.
