Energy Star LED bulb sales of more than 45 million

Energy star website recently disclosed that in the first challenge initiated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, in line with the energy star certified LED bulb sales of more than 20 million. Replacing such a large number of conventional bulbs will help the United States to save more than $118 million in energy costs each year, and reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to 3 million 500 thousand vehicles.

In the past year, from April 22, 2013 to April 22, 2014, many American retailers including Ace, Hardware (Best Buy) and home depot have participated in this challenge. They are in the notification letter, the website and store exhibition in the promotion of energy star LED bulb to help consumers understand the multiple benefits. In addition, the purchase subsidy also makes these bulbs more price advantage, in line with the choice of ordinary consumers. Although sales have been reported to reach 20 million, but the Environmental Protection Agency estimates that last year's Energy Star LED bulb total sales of more than 45 million.

Many retailers are given priority to promote the energy star LED bulb, because they want to give consumers a great lighting experience. As a government supported certification, the Energy Star label indicates that the light bulb has been certified independently, and has undergone numerous tests to ensure the performance, achieving high brightness and matching with the light distribution of the conventional bulb.

We must understand that, compared with the same light efficiency incandescent bulbs, energy star LED bulb saves energy consumption of 70%-90%, and extends the service life by 25 times. The only energy star certified light bulb can save $40-135 in electricity costs over its life cycle.
