Europe's first intelligent road began trial operation

According to foreign media reports, Hamburg, Germany has just been selected to become Europe's first test of intelligent road. Hamburg Port (HamburgPort) authorities and CISCO jointly built the road for this test, the smart road has therefore become a reality. The road took about 4 months to build into a smart road, near Hamburg docks. It connects 3 different roads, and the Kattwykbrucke bridge.

The road itself was opened in May of this year, along the street lamp poles have cameras and sensors. Composed of 4 main elements of the so-called smart road, respectively, intelligent lighting, intelligent transportation, smart environment and smart sensors. Intelligent lighting refers to the thermal sensor, only in some people, whether walking or riding through the time, will open the street lamp. And after passers-by have gone through a street lamp, street lamp will go out, to achieve the purpose of energy saving.

The intelligent environment is a series of environmental sensors, data transmission through the WiFi, the monitor can be seen on the environment monitoring. Intelligent transportation uses intelligent management methods to improve and optimize traffic flow. If there is congestion on the road, the picture will be recorded, these pictures and information will be sent to the transportation sector in a timely manner.

The camera used on the road will not record the face and vehicle information, video recording of the information will be shielded. The extension of the bridge is a lift bridge, 290 meters long, allowing the ship to pass from below. The bridge will rise once every 2 hours, allowing the ship to pass through for the next 20 minutes. Smart sensors allow the bridge to operate more smoothly, to prevent a large number of ships stranded in the port.

This intelligent road test will continue until 2016 of April, this period of time will be collected data to understand the impact of the entire system on traffic and efficiency.
