Product Maintenance

Focusing on innovative lighting, Xi Wan set up research laboratories and factories in Costa Rica.

Sylvania, a lighting solution provider, has set up a high-tech research laboratory in Costa Rica to design and manufacture innovative lighting products.

Tiago Pereira de Queiroz, general manager of the Central American, Caribbean and Mexico District, said that Queiroz has invested $1 million (equivalent to about 6 million 880 thousand yuan) to set up research rooms, which will cover luminaire development, project projects, products and quality management. Lamps will be exported to South America and Central America.

The lab has more than 20 high-tech equipment, and it is expected to speed up the testing process of Costa Rica product design and the verification of imported products. It is reported that Xi Wan is the first private enterprise to open a research office in Costa Rica, bringing some unique equipment to Central America.

The Xi Wan research laboratory is mainly used to manufacture special lamps for photometry, lighting, electrical, thermal measurement and mechanical testing in four industries. Tiago Pereira de Queiroz pointed out that relying on local talent, the lab will enable the company to develop products to meet the special needs of customers from different sectors of the region, promote the use of LED technology and reduce delivery time.

In addition, Hei Wan added an investment of 2 million 500 thousand US dollars (about RMB 17 million 210 thousand yuan) to build a new manufacturing plant. The plant will start operation in 2019. At the same time, the new plant will create 100 jobs for the local and provide a broad space for LED product manufacturing. In the face of growing market demand, Xi Wan is expected to expand capacity in Costa Rica. (compile: LEDinside Janice)
