Foreign companies estimate: 2009 Taiwan LED market size will be reduced by 6.5% to NT $76 billion

According to a June 3rd survey of Japanese economic Yano published results show that the relationship between Taiwan and OEM LED in the market and leading manufacturers and production aspects of high brightness field is highly anticipated, because the competition intensified price competition will lead into a grim situation, forecast 2009 Taiwan LED market will be 6.5% years to NT $76 billion yuan (about 197 billion 600 million yen), is expected to 2010 the annual increase of 6.4% to NT $80 billion 853 million yuan (about 210 billion yen).

Report shows that in 2008 the Taiwan LED market size by 4.1% to NT $81 billion 240 million yuan (about 211 billion 100 million yen), LED chip production capacity increased by 37.9% per year to 13310000000 / month. Yano said that in 2008 the Taiwan LED market is still the largest demand for mobile phones, LCD backlight, automotive, general lighting and display demand is also expanding.

Currently part of Taiwan LED plant although the development and production of high order packaging products in Taiwan, the low order packaging production in mainland Chinese, estimated Taiwan LED factory follow-up will gradually the higher order production also moved to the mainland Chinese, in order to improve the cost competitiveness.

For patent issues the biggest stumbling block to the LED market in Taiwan, the blue phosphor element and related patents will be held in 2010, until 2015, Taiwan will further expand the LED market forecast in 2010.
