"Four carriages" to promote the development of Guangdong LED industry

According to Huang Ningsheng, director of Guangdong provincial science and Technology Department, since 2010, the LED industry in Guangdong has increased by more than 25% annually. In 2013, the output value of LED industry in Guangdong reached 281 billion 103 million yuan. In the first three quarters of this year, the total output value of Guangdong's LED industry was 254 billion 679 million yuan, an increase of 27.95% over the same period last year, and the whole year is expected to exceed 350 billion yuan. This series of data shows that Guangdong LED industry has strong endogenous growth and good market prospects, and is playing an increasingly important role in the global LED industry structure. At present, there are more than 4000 LED enterprises in Guangdong, leading to nearly 3 million related employment. Among them, 25 listed LED companies account for 60% of the total number of LED listed companies in China, with a total market capitalization of nearly 100 billion yuan.

In terms of application innovation achievements, as of the end of September 2014, the LED patent authorization amount in Guangdong was 67391, accounting for 29.30% of the total LED patent authorization in the same period, accounting for 5.88% of the total patent authorization of Guangdong in the same period, and the technical self-sufficiency rate of the LED industry steadily increased. At present, Guangdong has issued 15 batches of outdoor lighting product benchmarking catalogue, 11 batch of indoor lighting product benchmarking system directory, and accumulated 3145 recommended benchmark system products.

Huang Ning also revealed that Guangdong plans to complete more than 130 local standards and 5 national standards in 5 years, and establish and improve the LED industry standard system with Guangdong characteristics, serving the development of the whole country and having international influence.

Referring to the future direction of development, Huang Ningsheng said that the next step is to promote Guangdong in four aspects:

First, we should take the cultivation of visible light communication industry as the starting point, and open up a new blue ocean crossing the LED industry. The two is to continue to use standard optical components as the starting point to seize the commanding heights of industrial standards. Three is to foster new formats as the starting point to enhance the industrial value chain. The four is to create a good ecological environment for industrial development based on multi agent collaborative innovation.

For example, in developing and developing visible light communication industry, Guangdong plans to organize major scientific and technological projects of "visible light communication technology and standard optical components", relying on LED industrial bases such as Shenzhen, Dongguan and Huizhou to vigorously build visible light communication industrial clusters. At the same time, we strongly support the development of China's visible optical communication industry technology innovation strategic alliance, vigorously introduce the top technical teams at home and abroad, accelerate the breakthrough of the key technology of visible light communication industry, and create a new growth pole of strategic emerging industries.
