Freely adjustable brightness PHILPS pushes "less leave" lighting

In Europe, it is recommended to use at least 500lux illuminance during office writing, typing and reading; in Taiwan, there is no mandatory provision for light intensity in office environments. PHILPS collected research data and found that the current lighting conditions are clearly inadequate for nearly 1/3 of global workers.

As the age increases, both eyes change with each other, and after 45 years, the near vision becomes progressively worse. Studies show that 60 year olds need 2 to 5 times more lighting than 20 to see the same amount of detail, let alone differences in concentration. PHILPS Bianca van der lighting chief scientist Dr. Zande said: "the big home because of the headache and fatigue and sick leave, these symptoms may be caused by many potential factors, one of which is likely to lead to poor working environment lighting, eye fatigue caused by long-term. Lack of lighting may cause visual discomfort, neck pain, headaches, tiredness, and possibly even sick leave."

In addition, not just concentration and performance need to be taken into account. Under the same lighting, an employee may be more focused, but another employee's creativity is affected. A 2011 laboratory study confirmed that the work focused on the demand for illumination, 1000lux, but to promote creative thinking, we need to consider dimming lighting.

PHILPS conducted a survey in 2013, with an adjustable lamp test to adjust the brightness and color temperature according to personal preference. About 90% of them said they could see more clearly, with the most comfortable eyes, less detail, and improved visual contrast. According to personal preferences to adjust their workplace lighting conditions, but also work with a pleasant mood, lighting quality, scoring improvement and environmental satisfaction is positively related. Because individual preferences vary greatly, it's the only effective way for everyone to control themselves, so that everyone has the opportunity to get the most suitable lighting for himself.

PHILPS's Ethernet powered, networked office lighting offers personal lighting without increasing employer costs and carbon footprint. Networked lighting systems use the same cables as computers, and lighting becomes a device on the Internet, and office workers can use smart phones to control and configure the lighting preferences of personal space.

Imagine, as long as the use of smart mobile phone applications, gently slide, you can adjust the lighting right above. PHILPS's networked office lighting system allows users to change their lighting settings according to their personal preferences. They can choose high brightness to boost their energy, or use low brightness to promote creative thinking. In addition, the system can remember the user's personal preferences.

The communication between smart phones and ceiling lighting uses the patented technology developed by PHILPS to build wireless access points within each luminaire, each with its own IP address. "This is the extended application of the Internet of things in the office," says Jeff Cassis, director of global systems for PHILPS lighting. As the world's leading lighting manufacturers, we developed such as software tools for intuitive console, setting and operating system, create a highly personalized energy-saving lighting for employees, and provide information useful in building management. Therefore, we can become an important partner for networked lighting systems, providing customers with lighting and lighting outside the value of services."

Taiwan PHILPS lighting division marketing associate Peng Xiaolan pointed out that PHILPS office power over Ethernet (Power-over-Ethernet, PoE) technology is expected in the second half of 2015 in Taiwan, the PoE opened the prelude, is the innovative PoE lighting solutions leader.
