Ministry of science and technology recently approved the establishment of the national Torch Program Putian liquid crystal display industry base in Fujian Province, Putian hi tech development zone". Ltd and Hongkong Technology Group Limited, Fujian Antwerp Semiconductor Co. Ltd. and Putian Deji Electronics Co. Ltd. and other 5 companies as the first base of backbone enterprises. So far, Fujian has 6 national electronic information industry base (or park).

According to reports, the liquid crystal display industry base in Putian has been formed in the LCD panel as the main body, the relevant supporting devices, functional modules and the application of the complementary structure of the relevant industrial development. 2004, the industrial output value of 5 billion 560 million yuan, paid taxes and profits of $120 million, foreign exchange earning $280 million.
