GE lighting announced the recall of 92000 LED lamps because of the hidden trouble of electric shock

According to the information released by the US Consumer Goods Safety Committee on its official website 6, GE lighting announced the recall of two LED lamps because of the risk of electric shock.

The product of the recall is cold and white general T8/T12 LED lamp, which is a suit containing 31243 LED lamp and 13T8U840 LED lamp. The number of recalls is up to 46000 sets, that is, 92000 lamps. This type of lamp tube is mainly used in garage, basement, workshop and sundries. The label on the base of the lamp is printed with GE and model information.

GE lighting indicates that in the process of installation / disassembly, one end of the lamp may be electrified, causing the danger of electric shock. Consumers should contact GE lighting immediately to obtain instructions for the safe removal of LED lamps and to get a refund of $17 in gift cards. Before trying to replace the LED lamp, the consumer should ensure that the switch of the lamp is in a "close" state.

The recalled luminaires were sold exclusively from all stores in the United States and the online mall Lowes.com from Lowe's from November 2017 to April 2018, with a price of about $15. There have been no accidents and casualties. (compiled: LEDinside Nicole)
