Goodbye! Halogen bulbs will be out of the European Union's historical stage next month

Next month, the sixth phase of the so-called "light bulb ban" will be implemented in the EU and another light source will be banned in the European market.

According to a European directive, since the fall of 2009, high energy consumption lamps have gradually disappeared from the market. For retailers and manufacturers, the next phase of the halogen light ban, which began in September 1st this year, means more changes.

After September 1st, the related products may no longer be circulated anywhere else in the UK or the European Union.

The ban mainly covers the popular classic halogen bulbs (usually made of glass, full of light, with a E27 or E14 socket base, without a transformer).

Some non directional halogen lamps with G4 and GY6.35 inserts will also be affected. After September 1st, retailers can sell their surplus stock, so buyers have enough time to upgrade the lighting to compatible LED lights.

But the light bulb ban gives consumers doubts as many consumers know little about lighting technology.

According to a previous survey of the international consumer survey done by landvance, many of the people's list of purchases clearly contained outdated old technology, for example, 27% of Germans were still listing "traditional bulbs" on their shopping lists, seemingly completely unaware of the stock and special use of the light source. In addition to the product, the ban on the sale of the EU has come into force since September 2009, and stores have no longer sold any traditional light source products.

Another surprising thing is that the demand for halogen lamps is still very strong. Since 2009, these products have been banned on the market in instalments in instalments, and this prohibition may be further accelerated. (Editor: LED network James)
