Haier bid for Mattel negotiations ended this week bid for as many as 36

In July 18th foreign news, said the United States home appliance giant Mattel before the company will be on Friday with the end of the second potential bidders for negotiations, including the China appliance maker Haier.

MATTEL said in a filing to the securities and Exchange Commission, they have notified Haier, Bain Capital and Blackstone group, the review period will be concluded in July 22.

Haier in June this year to submit a bid for MATTEL applications, the offer price of $16 per share. Prior to this, MATTEL has accepted Ripplewood's $1 billion 130 million acquisition request, equivalent to $14 per share.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission approved the acquisition of Ripplewood's request. MATTEL said it would convene a special general meeting on August, the Ripplewood offer to vote.

MATTEL also said in the document, if substantial progress in negotiations with Haier, the shareholders will be notified immediately. The document also shows that during the period May 19th to June 17th, MATTEL had contact with 36 potential acquirers.
