HeLa and Audi co - develop the concept of headlight lighting and new lighting in the car

According to foreign media reports, the German automobile lighting plant HELLA and AUDI co operated to develop a unique lighting technology for the new AUDI A7 Sportback, which can be used for different headlamps such as LED, matrix LED lamps and laser beam high luminance matrix LED. The system uses a new control unit, which can be applied to all lighting functions, and the two sides also jointly develop the new concept of lighting in the car.

HELLA's lighting technology has previously been used on the AUDI brand new flagship A8, and will also be used in the A7 car system to provide the best road vision, and its anti glare far light function allows other road users to avoid the glare of the beam. For example, the non glare long light function can automatically mask other traffic participants to prevent glare. The reliable communication between the front camera, the sensor and the headlamp is a necessary condition for the high precision matrix LED operation with a laser beam. The HeLa control unit is responsible for controlling all the functions of the headlight, including the near light, the far light, the continuous light steering light, and the dynamic lighting effects of the head-on and off drivers. Therefore, only one control unit can control all the functions.

The AUDI A7 uses 8 control channels to adjust the lighting effects of the LED headlights. This means that the 32 light-emitting diodes of the high precision matrix LED module can be controlled individually. In addition, it also highlights the unique daytime traffic light effect. The A7 headlight contains 12 light distribution partitions. When the driver opens the door, the headlights will show the dynamic lighting effect. At the end of the drive, the door opens with a reverse dynamic lighting effect. In addition, the control unit is also responsible for controlling the continuous light steering indicator.

The control unit conforms to the latest functional safety standards. For example, it can automatically adjust the headlights in order to adjust the headlights to the best position to avoid the glare of other traffic participants. In addition, it is equipped with a "failure safety" model. The vehicle is equipped with a fault safety system, so the car can still provide enough road lighting for the driver in the event of a failure.

HELLA not only developed the different dynamic effects and intelligent control functions of the headlights with the AUDI, but also created a new concept of interior lighting. With the help of the optional ambient lighting components, the dashboard, the door interior panel and the light guide on the door lights create a pleasant interior atmosphere for the Audi A7 Sportback. The multicolored ambient light component further expands the concept of lighting. The chrome trim in the front passenger side dashboard has a "Quattro" emblem, which will show a particularly elegant effect at night. Hella joint Audi has adopted special production technology and laser treatment technology to ensure the coating of chrome plated strips. The other light guides on the door and the central control platform further create a special lighting effect. The protective panel of the door interior panel and the center control table uses a chrome plated trimming to create a high-end interior effect. To this end, HELLA engineers adopted a special injection molding process.

The second generation of RGB LED modules co developed with AUDI allows drivers to adjust the lighting color according to their personal preferences, which constitutes the core of the interior molding atmosphere lighting.

By setting up the top control unit in the front car area, HeLa further realizes the docking of its lighting and electronic technology. The control unit consists of a SOS button and a skylight control based on the vehicle configuration version, the cockpit monitoring sensor and the microphone. The integrated reading lamp is designed with touch. The reading lamp installed at the center of the rear ceiling of the car supports independent brightness adjustment.

In addition to the lighting and electronics made for A7, HELLA also provides a rich range of products that can bring great additional value to customers, and highlights its vision of actively shaping future travel solutions.
