Hongkong branch to join the "climate organization" to promote "LightSavers" LED outdoor lighting program

To promote low-carbon lighting, Hong Kong University Science & Technology to assist international non-governmental organizations "climate organization" (The Climate Group) on April 28th officially launched the "LightSavers" LED outdoor lighting project.

In this program include Adelaide, Guiyang, Hongkong, Calcutta, London, New York, Tianjin, Toronto and other more than and 10 city. To evaluate the effectiveness of LED and smart lighting systems in reducing carbon dioxide emissions and energy conservation, as well as to improve road lighting and safety, by comparing the results of various participating cities.

Test project will be respectively in Hong Kong University Science & Technology, University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong International Airport three locations. Climate organizations and the three institutions will cooperate in the 6~12 months to test the five LED lamps. Preliminary test results will be published in 2011 Q1.
