How does cloth change to touch screen? Controllable mobile phones and lighting fixtures

Phoenix Science and technology news May 30th, according to PCWorld website of science and technology, Google displayed a cloth made of smart fiber at I/O conference, which could be used for controlling smart phones or lighting lamps in families.

The pilot project, called Project Jacquard, "knitted" electronic components into fibers, made the fabric "turned" into a touch screen. User fingers can slide on cloth and control nearby electronic equipment.

Google set up several display stands at the I/O conference. In a display stand, users can use a cloth to manipulate the 3D image on the nearby display screen. Another cloth can switch the songs played by the mobile phone, and a cloth can control the lamps and lanterns on the ceiling.

It is not clear how Google plans to make use of this technology developed by its advanced technology and project group. Google 3D map technology Project Tango also comes from the Department's hands.

Google announced Friday that Levi''s is the first partner of Project Jacquard, but has not announced any specific "smart clothes".

Some of the videos on the Project Jaquard website contain scenes of industrial weaving, so Google may have solved the problem of mass production. The sign on the side of the booth shows that the fabric is being produced in textile factories in the United States and Japan.

Project Jaquard, Google executive Karsten Schwisger (Carsten Schwesig) said that the technology can be applied to almost all fabrics. There are some wool and silk thread on the wall behind the exhibition, which may indicate that the technology will be used in woolen fabrics and silk fabrics.

Skei Weiss G said Google and its partners have developed this technology for about 1 years.
