A Morimi Semiconductor (ON) launched a lighting management component NCP5890.
NCP5890 with 30V output voltage capability, driven by a series of light-emitting diodes, LCD screen to achieve a balanced backlight. In addition, the components of the control group three or three primary colors of white LED (RGB) LED, the keyboard or the chassis to create a decorative pattern of light. The driver can adjust the backlight current according to the brightness of the ambient light, thereby prolonging the service time of the battery. The NCP5890 inductive boost LED driver provides up to 90% of the total power supply at the 1.3MHz oscillator frequency, which can drive up to 8 series of LED, as LCD backlight and decorative light. This device can detect ambient light, can reduce the power consumption of smart phones and increase user comfort.
NCP5890 and built-in progressive dimming function, can create fade and fade effect. Ambient light sensing and progressive dimming are built-in automation functions that can be started with a simple I2C command. This element supports the I2C protocol and has two different address options. The integrated driver has a true cut (true cut-off) function that limits the off mode leakage output to extend battery life. NCP5890 integrated with 3x3x0.5mm LCD QFN-16 LCD backlight, decorative light control and ambient light sensing function, suitable for small smart phones and portable media player.
