ISuppli said that from the supply side, the first quarter of this year, the size of the supply of large-size LCD panel exceeded the demand of 3.1%. The second quarter of this gap between supply and demand will be reduced to 2.4%. However, the gap between supply and demand in the third quarter will be expanded to 4.8% in the fourth quarter will be expanded to 6.1%.

Short term supply tensions will drive up the price of 17 inch LCD display panels and a 15 inch LCD display panel. ISuppli said the main reason for the increase in demand is the growth of desktop computer monitors and LCD TV market demand.

Although the next generation production line AUO and SONY and Samsung joint venture company S-LCD LCD panel manufacturers increased production capacity, but the supply of LCD panel is still tense. This is because the new production line to improve production will take time, resulting in tight supply.

ISuppli said that the second half of this year, the increase in the production capacity of the LCD panel is mainly used in the LCD TV market, therefore, the mainstream of mobile PC monitors and desktop monitors supply in recent years will still be short.

ISuppli's forecast is based on the next generation production line planning of many LCD panel manufacturers. The focus of these manufacturers plan is to build more than 30 inches LCD TV panel production line.

Although it is expected to slow, but the entire LCD equipment spending in the long LG of PHILPS LCD, SHARP and other manufacturers AUO plans to invest billions of dollars to build a LCD TV panel production line.
