Illuminating African projects funded by U.S. government

Lighting Africa project advocate the world bank and the international finance company is committed to providing millions of people in Africa, safe and affordable off grid lighting, also welcomed the U.S. government recently proposed clean energy technology project funds, support for developing new initiatives.

Illuminating the African project is one of the beneficiaries of the US Climate REDI (Renewables and Efficient Deployment Imitative regeneration and effective deployment imitation) $one hundred million fund. The fund recognizes and supports the important role of off grid projects in Africa and around the world. It has not yet been determined to give a specific amount of light to africa.

Climate REDI will use the following methods to promote clean energy technologies:

1, quality assurance, prevent inferior renewable energy products harm to consumers in developing countries; 2, the most basic energy efficiency standards to prevent the low efficiency of products into the market; 3, with a label to guide consumers to identify the quality assurance and high efficiency products; 4, to support the low carbon products realize the scale, and to reduce the cost of deployment and promote the private sector investment to eliminate obstacles; 5, information sharing, so that the energy of all stakeholders to use the most advanced information technology and the best way to participate.
