Japan's Canon launched SED TV into OLED competitors

The Japanese consumer electronics group, Canon will launch a new television, the television can provide a wide viewing angle and a traditional cathode-ray television as deep color, but like thin LCD or plasma tv.

After winning a patent lawsuit, Canon, the Japanese consumer electronics group, will launch a new television set that has delayed the listing of the TV for more than three years.

NASDAQ listed Applied Nano-tech filed a lawsuit against Canon for illegally licensing its patented technology, but the company decided not to appeal to the Supreme Court of the United states. "It's probably a vain effort. Applied Nano-tech chief financial officer Douglas Baker said.

Today, Canon can finally launched by surface conduction electron emitter displays (SED) tv. It offers a wide viewing angle and is as deep as a traditional cathode ray television, but is as thin as liquid crystal or plasma tv.

SED is an organic light reflecting diode technology (OLEDs) competitors, may cause a shock in the huge TV and display market. OLEDs supported by SONY and samsung. Canon in 2006 showed a sample of SED, but has not been able to prove that the company can be a competitive price of large-scale production of such television.
