Bandai of Japan's SEEDS group (Headquarters: Tochigi County Mibu) developed a light emitting diode (LED) real candle lamp (Figure 1). A cylindrical lampshade made of a tracing paper and paper, looks like a candle burning in the air.
Figure 1:SEEDS development of light-emitting diode (LED) lamp. Characterized by a true reproduction of the candlelight.
The key to the development of the simulation is the shape of the candle acrylic light guide plate and the white LED light-emitting". The light guide plate with a conical top slightly cut part shape (Figure 2). A groove is formed on the entire surface of the side surface in order to make the side surface (cone surface) integral. In addition, the side painted orange, so close to the color of the candle. The shape of the candle is reproduced by the light guide plate on the upper part of the luminous part with a white LED.
Figure 2: lamp body. Orange part is light guide plate. The black part is provided with a light emitting part.
Figure 3: luminescence. Three white LED arranged in a straight line.
The light-emitting unit is equipped with at least three white LED. When equipped with three white LED, make it in a straight line (Figure 3). In the left and right LED, one is a sine wave with a long period of light and dark, and the other is the same light and shade in a short period of time. The central LED is switched on by means of light, sometimes with the same waveform as the left LED, sometimes with the same waveform as the right LED. This switching cycle is about 1 orders of magnitude shorter than the period of the sine wave of the left and right LED. The company said that through this light and shade control, can show the candle in the smaller, instantly disappeared, and the state of a light". In addition, if you choose a fixed lighting, but also can be used as ordinary lamps.
