LED hand robot vegetable production efficiency increased over 100 times

This automated farm will be located in the city of Kansai City, Tianjin, Tianjin city, covers an area of 4800 square meters, construction costs, including R & D machinery funds, including nearly 2 billion yen. The farm will begin construction in the spring of 2016 and is expected to be completed in summer 2017.

Spread said in a statement, the first half of the new farm will supply in 2017, the first is the daily output of eighty thousand lettuce, then gradually increased, the goal is to improve the daily output to 500 thousand trees of five years, to further expand the share in the domestic and international market.

The new farm still needs to confirm whether the seeds germinate. Because the seed is extremely fragile, the existing seeding robot can not carry out the work smoothly. But the company believes that the problem can be solved in the end.

At present, Spread in Kyoto City, set up an artificial lighting garden, the annual production of 7 million 700 thousand lettuce, supply to Tokyo, the store more than 2 thousand.

Compared with traditional farms, the indoor farm has many advantages. Due to the use of three-dimensional planting and planting technology, which covers an area of very small, and up to 98% of the water can be recycled, nor need to spray pesticides. In addition, the artificial lighting control temperature and humidity strictly make people grow vegetables no longer dependent on the weather, and easier to control and implement the production plan.

Japanese plant physiologist Shimamura Shigeji created an industrial scale farm in a factory not long ago. The farm covers an area of about half a football field, inside LED lights 17500 specially designed, distributed in each of the 18 planting frame of the 16 layer, which can simulate day and night, through strict monitoring procedures to the growth rate of photosynthesis, lettuce farm 1.5 times faster than outdoor, scrap rate is less 40%. The production efficiency is increased by 100 times.
