LED street lighting saves more than 10000 kilowatt hours per day at Guangzhou Shenzhen Expressway.

June 10th is the second national low carbon day. Guangdong Communications Group has announced that since last year's Guangzhou Shenzhen Expressway completed the LED energy saving transformation, the entire line has been saving electricity by about 4 million 800 thousand degrees a year, which is equivalent to saving 1920 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 5000 tons.

It is reported that the Guangzhou Shenzhen Expressway has installed 6280 street lights on the whole line. Before the transformation, the traditional ballast type high voltage sodium lamp of 250W was used, and the electricity consumption was about 8 million degrees throughout the year. The problem of huge power consumption caused by street lighting has become increasingly prominent. In 2013, the Guangzhou Shenzhen Expressway began to carry out LED energy saving transformation for all the streetlights on the whole line of 122.8 kilometers. It is the first and longest LED transformation highway in China.
