LG Display launched 8.9mm thick 47 inch LED backlit LCD panel

South Korea LG Display on January 7, 2009 at the CES 2009 exhibition venue near the hotel, to some news media and other plans to release in 2010 the supply of 47 inches IPS (In-Plane Switching) LCD panel. One of the characteristics of this display is the use of "modular", that is, the backlight using LED and light guide plate, and its split into 72 areas to use. The weight has not been announced, but the company uses a non modular LED backlight, 13mm thick panel with a size of 12kg. If it is assumed that the thickness becomes thinner and lighter, it is equivalent to removing 8kg.

In addition, the company also released the following information:

(1) a non - modular LED backlight with a 47 inch IPS LCD panel. Thickness of 13mm, supply in July 2009. MPRS is 8ms. Weight of 12kg.

(2) inch IPS LCD panel with a frame rate of 240Hz. Supply in February 2009. Greatly improved the IPS characteristics, the control circuit will be reduced to very small. MPRS is 6ms.

(3) IPS LCD panel with frame frequency equivalent to 480Hz. MPRS is 4ms. Delivery period in the second half of 2009.

(4) 15 inch OLED panel. Resolution of 105ppi (PixEL Per Inch). "Including the delivery date, as well as the choice for the TV or for the PC, will be determined by the customer, from the company's point of view, can immediately supply".

(5) a 55 inch 3D display with special glasses.

(6) support for naked eye view of a 47 inch 3D display. The liquid crystal panel is made into a cylindrical lens (Lenticular Lens), and the 2 dimension and the 3 dimension display mode can be switched.
