LSI will sell 8 inch wafer fab with wafer foundry

American semiconductor manufacturer LSI Logic13 said, will sell Oregon Gresham 8 inch fab, transition to the fabless IC design company, the future will be expanded with foundry partnership.

The chip is mainly the production of consumer electronics, LSI Logic TV box and the use of the router. The company said it would raise $75 million in restructuring costs in the third quarter of -1.10.

LSI Logic pointed out, will expand with foundry partners, the future will use 65 nanometer and the following process to 12 inch wafer production of semiconductor. Company president and chief executive officer Abhi Talwalker said the company has not yet found the buyer to take over.

LSI Logic announced in August that it would restructure its business, will focus on the business of key market customized chips, consumer products and storage platform etc.. Over the past few years, LSI Logic has been selling Fab and TSMC, UMC and Taiwan, SMIC and Rohm foundry cooperation or partnership.
