Recently, Maxim launched a combination of highly efficient negative charge pump with two independent, low dropout (LDO) regulator LED (WLED) driver "MAX8822".
MAX8822 features a miniature 3mm x 3mm x 0.8mm TQFN package, the single chip scheme can drive 4 WLED, and its size is only a standard dual chip solution of 50%.
MAX8822 uses a negative charge pump architecture, without high side resistance, but also in the battery discharge delay from 1 times to the mode of the jump of 2 times, and thus has the highest efficiency. The device uses an independent, adaptive switching mode to adjust the LED of each path, and even further extends the battery life even when the LED forward voltage (VF) has a large mismatch. The characteristics of these innovative MAX8822 compared with similar products, can improve the efficiency of 12%, applicable to the limited space, the battery life is very important occasions, such as: mobile phone, mobile phone, PDA and other smart handheld devices etc..
LDO regulator with 45 VRMS low noise and high PSRR output characteristics, suitable for RF, LCD panels and cameras and other more sensitive to the noise of the occasion. The output voltage can be set to 16 different combinations by a simple serial pulse control interface.
MAX8822 can work normally in the temperature range of -40 DEG C to +85 C. The evaluation board is available to speed up the design process.
