Mexico incandescent ban date postponed to December 31, 2014

Mexico energy department has issued a regulation, first announced in December 2010 40 Mexico lock and 60 watt incandescent lamp on the commencement date postponed from December 31, 2013 to December 31, 2014.

The ban applies to 40 Watt or 60 watt, with a power of less than 17.44 lm/w (LM / W) or a light bulb of 14 lm/w (using a modified spectral lamp of 13.09 lm/w or 14). Since December 31, 2011, Mexico has banned the sale of incandescent lamps with a general purpose of 100 watts or more, and energy efficiency of less than 20.69 lm/w (or the use of a modified spectrum of 15.53 lm/w). Similarly, incandescent lamps of 75 WATTS or more, energy efficiency of less than 19.81 lm/w (using a modified spectrum of 14.86 lm/w bulbs) were banned from December 31, 2012.

The recent regulations will also stage second (more stringent) minimum efficiency standards of incandescent lamps, halogen and self ballasted CFLs implementation date postponed from December 2014 to January 1, 2019, the third stage (more strictly) minimum efficiency standards for these products the implementation date postponed from December 2015 to January 1, 2020.
