Millions of trees are replaced with LED lights. Why?

At the 2008 EIA conference, the extension project of the Taiyuan Linkou power plant was originally promised to grow 1 million trees in Xinbei city to save energy and reduce carbon. After investigation, it was found that only 863 trees were planted in the land of Xinbei City, so that more than 80 thousand LED street lamps were replaced to replace trees. Today, when the EPA convened an EIA conference, during the operation of Linkou power plant, Taiwan power sent another 5000 seedlings to Xinbei municipal government every year.

In the same year, Taiwan power company proposed the expansion plan for Linkou Power Plant No. second, third. The local government asked Taiwan power to plant 1 million trees in the area. But later, after the investigation of the district offices in Xinbei City, it was possible to use green space and found that there were not enough trees to grow 1 million trees. Therefore, Taiwan power put forward the idea of replacing trees with lights, except for planting 863 trees in Xinbei City, 105. At least 85820 street lamps will be replaced by LED street lamps before the end of the year so as to reduce 47100 tons of carbon dioxide per year.

Today, the environmental protection department held an environmental impact assessment conference. The convening group of the ad hoc group's circular committee pointed out that when the first review was carried out, Taiyang proposed that the members from 1 million trees to 863 trees were very surprised. However, the new North Municipal government made clear the lack of land and reached a consensus with Taipower in many censorship sessions, and calculated the carbon reduction benefits of replacing LED street lamps. It is 7 times the number of millions of trees, and the ad hoc group recommended it.

However, some committee members believe that there are many differences between tree species and seed bulbs. In addition to the benefits of energy saving and carbon reduction, planting trees also have the functions of purifying street lamps such as air, ecology and beauty. After discussing the circular Committee's resolution, in addition to its original commitment, Taipower sends 5000 seedlings to Xinbei city every year during the operation of Linkou power plant.
