Product Maintenance

New year's day, the new standard for incandescent lamps is launched on New Year's day in California, the United States. This kind of light bulb will encounter a ban

California, the United States, will take the lead in saying good-bye to the incandescent lamp with high energy consumption next January 1st, while other states will eliminate incandescent lamps that are not in line with the standard in 2020.

The regulations still allow stores to sell old incandescent lamps, but they are prohibited from making incandescent lamps that are not standard after January 1st.

This rule derives from a bill signed by former US President George W. Bush (George W. Bush) on "the gradual implementation of new light bulb standards" in 2007. The latest light bulb stipulates that it will take effect in 2020, and federal law allows California to start the regulation two years earlier and start on New Year's day in 2018.

In fact, it does not prohibit incandescent bulbs in an all-round way, but requires that incandescent lamps made after January 1st next year must reach a standard of 45 lumens per watt, which is three times more efficient than the original old incandescent lamp.

However, there are few incandescent lamps in the market that meet the standards of new regulations, and most consumers may turn to CFL or LED lights. Compared with the incandescent lamp, the LED lamp not only does not need warm light time, but also saves 80% of the electricity.

The 60 - watt incandescent bulb and the 10 - watt LED lamp have the same lighting effect; and the LED has a long life, and it can be used for about 15 to 20 years to save the trouble of replacing the bulb if it is used for 3 hours a day.

The Natural Resources Defense Council (Natural Resources Protection Committee) estimates that if the 200 million 5 thousand incandescent lamps in California are replaced with LED lights, the state will save $1 billion in the state's electricity.
