Universal Display recently announced that the company has signed a 5 year long OLED technology patent licensing and raw material procurement agreement with the Tianma microelectronics Limited by Share Ltd. Tianma's Shanghai Gen5.5AM-OLED product line began mass production of AM-OLED modules in 2016, mainly for smart phones. Tianma also continued to inject capital into OLED production to expand production capacity for commercial production. In this agreement, UDC Ireland Limited, a subsidiary of Universal Display, provides a non exclusive patent authorization for Tianma microelectronics, which includes a variety of Universal Display patents for the manufacture and sale of OLED display products. At the same time, Universal Display will supply phosphorescent OLED material to Tianma microelectronics and apply to authorized products.
