OSRAM wins a large BMW plant for the installation of LED lamps

Headquarters in Munich, OSRAM lighting company, announced the group won the BMW big orders before the date, OSRAM will be located in eight car manufacturers in Germany and Austria BMW factory, using energy-saving new light source LED technology, realize the modernization of lighting factory.

For OSRAM lighting solutions (LS) business, the order is by far the largest one. According to the terms of the contract, up to 170000 LED lamps will be installed in various stages before the end of 2017.

Application of energy saving LED technology to modernize the production plant

The first phase of the LED lighting project has already started, and the specially designed lamps have been installed at the BMW group in Ding Gefen and Regensburg. Alone for Ding Gefen, OSRAM installed up to 70000 LED lamps. These modern lamps installed in the factory, instead of the original lighting, just a simple installation work, OSRAM will soon complete the progress of this stage.

In addition, the original relay system of these plants from OSRAM's subsidiary Siteco, some of which are still installed decades ago, but it turns out that these are easy to replace.

In the trunk, OSRAM engineering team to retain the main wire system, only the replacement of lighting accessories. The original lamp accessories, including fluorescent lamps, accessories and control devices, are as "cover" simply connected to the trunk line, and now, these "cover" all replaced by modern LED technology. Simply plug and play, no additional circuit installation is required during installation.

In fact, in 2015, OSRAM has been located in Ding Gefen BMW warehouse, all modified LED lighting fixtures. In this project, about 6000 lamps will be installed in the new logistics hall, the actual verification and efficiency is also in line with the requirements of the BMW, so there is a follow-up to the expansion of orders.

OSRAM currently has nearly 33000 employees worldwide, with a turnover of EUR 2015 for fiscal year 5 billion 600 million (as of September 30th).
