Obama said: the White House to replace energy-saving lamps

According to U.S. media reports, the U.S. government will implement a new round of energy efficiency standards in the country. President Barack Obama said the White House is no exception, will replace the existing light bulbs with energy-saving lamps.

Mr Obama said he would set a new standard for fluorescent and incandescent bulbs as part of a series of initiatives to promote energy conservation across the country, while promoting "broad prospects" for energy-saving lamps. The current fluorescent lamp and incandescent lamp power consumption accounted for 37% of the total electricity consumption and 7%.

Obama said that the new energy efficiency standards bring substantial gains in 2012 ~2042 years will be highest: every year can save consumers $4 billion lighting electricity costs, save enough energy to use for every American family for 10 months, the emissions of greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to 166 million cars a year, reduce the demand for electricity generation amount equivalent to 14 of thermal power plant.
