On the survival of LED lighting industry from the perspective of mass production

The LED lighting industry growth, can be roughly divided into three stages, the first stage is the LED a lot of popularity in the market, the focus of development at this stage, is to emphasize the efficiency of light, making the specification, measurement and products comply with building regulations and unified terminology.

In the second stage, is to improve the quality of LED light, this is because the firms pay more and more attention of consumers for the LED light quality feeling, therefore will be dedicated to let light and natural light is close to LED, the temperature must also be more close to natural light.

For the third stage, is entering the system integration, to the so-called smart lighting, the key is in the end of the cross domain integration of LED applications, such as the metropolitan integrated power supply system, or in agriculture, forestry, fishery and animal husbandry to use LED products.

ITRI director Liu Junting said, Taiwan entered the second stage and three manufacturers in the LED industry growth, many small businesses will be difficult, not only eroded profit in the end, even in the whole industry chain will also be severely compressed, the most important reason, lies in the second and three stage, stressed is the quality and system integration design of light, capacity in this area many small plants are relatively insufficient, so it is easy to be eliminated.

Liu Junting further stressed that Taiwan industry as the future to continue to shine in LED industry, is bound to be consistent with international companies through the design strategy, companies continue to buy small light source, the LED product completely and system or building materials combined, from the past "production" concept to "design" concept, after all smart lighting does not emphasize "quantitative", but a "feeling".
