The number of road lights, overhaul over the previous three years, is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

The palace lamp type street lamp was first installed in 2002. The elaborate design of the lamps and lanterns is in accordance with the architectural style of the ancient city of Suzhou, with the functions of both landscape and road lighting. However, due to the large volume of lamps and lanterns, on the ground to be more than 1 meters high, the single set of weight also reached 150 kilograms. Therefore, to ensure the safe operation of these lanterns has been the important work of the lighting. Since 2012, the lighting office has carried out the renovation of the active service palace lantern according to the year of use. The lamps and lanterns are reformed and replaced by the aging organic panel. The energy saving lamp in the original lamp is replaced by the LED light source, the sodium lamp ballast is converted into the electronic power converter, so as to be beautiful and reduce the consumption.

In addition, as these street lamps are located in the urban area, the traffic pressure on the road base is large during the day. Therefore, the lighting office continues to carry out the "wrong time" work, and the operation time is adjusted from 10 to 5 a.m. to the minimum.
