Oxford Taiwan instrument and strengthen cooperation to jointly develop Micro / LED etc.

The world famous multinational equipment manufacturing group - Oxford instruments (Oxford Instruments) yesterday (9) announced that it will expand in Chinese Taiwan ITRI R & D base establishment, and relied on Taiwan ITRI accumulated over the years in the field of semiconductor energy research and development, strengthen the innovation of technology cooperation between each other.

Oxford instrument and ITRI 9 signed a memorandum of cooperation, by the Taiwan Ministry of economic science and technology expert Cai Yousheng and the British Embassy in Taiwan on behalf of Tang Kailin (Catherine Nettleton) to witness the signing of Duan Jiarui and British business associate Taiwan Research Institute Oxford instrument plasma science and technology group global financial officer Adam Jaufurally on behalf of the future areas of cooperation between the two sides will be extended to: MEMS (micro electro mechanical system), Micro-LED (micro Silicon Photonics (light emitting diode), silicon photonic) semiconductor optoelectronic devices and equipment technology development.

Taiwan Institute associate Duan Jiarui said, Taiwan ITRI has abundant semiconductor and photoelectric energy research and development personnel, very fruitful results, the more across the upper middle and lower reaches of the industrial chain, to create a vigorous development of Taiwan Chinese related industries. Since 2006 signed a memorandum of cooperation, in close cooperation with Taiwan Institute of micro system center, along with the development of HB-LED successfully (high brightness LED) related technology; the Oxford instruments expanded in Taiwan ITRI R & D team lineup, besides the technology development related to conventional LED in the days after, will also address the emerging technology and applications such as Micro-LED, Silicon photonics cooperation, can promote application of semiconductor technology, accelerate economic growth in emerging markets in asia.
