Philips Hue smart light bulb series security concerns? Official response

Issued by the ColinO researchers' Flynn about "virus (IoT worm) networking" possibility research, because the text mentioned PHILPS Hue product series, caused a burst of a great disturbance in the market. In this regard, PHILPS has also made an immediate response to clarify the possibility of cooperation with the company's research unit is proposed, not in fact.

PHILPS's Hue products have not been infected with the virus. The researchers contacted the PHILPS team in mid 2016 to present a potential weakness that had been completed before the disclosure of the findings. The fact that the development of a virus that can invade the Hue product and the use of an intrusion is inconsistent with the facts.

Despite the low risk of Philips Hue related products being affected, PHILPS calls on all consumers to update the Hueapp to the latest version.

The academic units that cooperate with us only publish the possibility of such attacks. They did not create the virus and did not reveal any information that might help to create such a virus. The findings of the research team helped PHILPS develop and update software. (compile: LEDinside editor, Zhang Yahan)
