Plath launched EZ-Color (TM) brightness LED solution

Plath semiconductor announced the launch of the new EZ-Color design for high brightness LED intelligent lighting system. The EZ-Color solution now includes a DMX512 protocol driver that enables designers to create the entire intelligent lighting network faster and more easily without coding. EZ-Color series of high brightness LED controller combined with PSoC Express, the industry's first integrated visual design tools for the complete design solutions including building lighting, general signage lighting, entertainment lighting and more. The solution requires the designer to select a high brightness LED part number, select the temperature or optical feedback and select the color, including white light. Gopal Plath, executive director of Garg's EZ-Color business unit, said the DMX512 protocol is widely used to provide lighting designers with more flexibility in support of this agreement to simplify EZ-Color design. In order to provide consistent color, the current LED design requires a series of complex calculations. At present, HBLED engineers are facing the two biggest problems, one is the need to consider the production of different encoding (manufacturingbin) differences in LED performance specifications; two is to reduce the performance of LED at different temperatures (such as light output wavelength, etc.). The use of PSoCExpress, designers only need to select color from the screen color gamut. Pre installed production coding specifications and temperature feedback algorithms will be automatically applied to the selected design and programmed into the EZ-Color controller. For complex designs, this can save weeks or even months of design time. EZ-Color controller not only has the advantages of easy design, but also supports up to 16 LED channels, compared to similar competing products can only support four to five channels. Support for more channels means that in the large design, you can save dozens or even hundreds of controllers, reduce design complexity, power consumption and board level space. The EZ-Color controller also uses the Plath PrISMTM patent (high precision lighting signal modulation) technology. PrISM modulation technology greatly reduces the low-frequency flicker and radiated electromagnetic interference, which is a common problem in the design of HB LED. Designers can also be flexible to the EZ-Color controller to add more features, such as battery charging, motor control and other features.

CY3261A-RGB Evaluation Kit provides support for the EZ-Color series. The Evaluation Kit demonstrates the flexibility and ease of use of EZ-Color in high brightness LED color mixing applications, and uses temperature compensation to provide consistent color. In the evaluation kit also includes an interactive graphical interface, can be directly controlled by the CIE chart or a single HB LED color mixing.
