ROHM on the package with ultra small WL-CSP package for high density mounting, and traditional size (QFN product) in contrast, the 2~3 lamp type BD82103GWL (1.5 x 1.8 x 0.55mm) volume decreased by 84%, 70% reduction in area; 3~4 lamp type BD1204GWL (1.85 x 1.85 x 0.55mm) volume decreased by 79%, reduced the area 62%; 5~6 lamp type BD1206GUL (2 x 2 x 0.55mm) volume decreased by 86%, a decrease of 75% in the area, three kinds of products have achieved a minimum size.
3~4 lamp type BD1204GWL and 5~6 lamp type BD1206GUL two models have begun to sample, and is scheduled to start from June 2009, respectively, to 1 million per month, the size of the beginning of mass production in 500 thousand. 2~3 lamp type BD82103GWL has also begun to sample, the monthly production capacity of about 1 million. Process of these three products were in the ROHM Corporation (Hamamatsu Shizuoka), after the process in ROHM Corporation (Fukuoka county) of Fukuoka.
In addition, these three products are used to automatically increase the rate (X1, X1.5, X2, three segment) switching charge pump, without external coil. The use of digital one wire 16 (0.125mA~20mA, simulation Log curve) fixed current drive UPIC control mode, can effectively reduce the number of wiring lines. The ultra small package can also effectively reduce the number of external components and wiring, so the device is most suitable for the miniaturization, thinness and space design requirements.
In the end for type 2 ~ 4 inch LCD backlight module, BD1204GWL BD1206GUL, has been optimized for the circuit and wiring, so even if the volume is reduced, can also provide PWM brightness control function, so it can realize signal by PWM and backlight control function of the film.
