Research on the LED light can inhibit plant disease and the United States voted ten million support

The United States Department of agriculture (USDA) and the United States Food and Agriculture Research Institute (NIFA) will provide $1 million 700 thousand funding for researchers to use light to suppress a variety of pathogens research program. Mark Leah (Mark Rea) is a professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) director of lighting research center, David Qada and the College of agriculture and Life Sciences, Cornell University (David Gadoury) in collaboration with the research project. There are two research groups in Norway, the Department of life sciences at the University of Norway, and the Norway Center for biological economics.

The research team will develop and test UV-B and visible light device in different production systems, used to inhibit powdery mildew (powdery mildew) the feasibility, in order to better understand the severity of light on how to influence the development of plant pathogens and these diseases.

The research team also has the responsibility to promote the public to understand the importance of light on plant disease control. To further assist the relevant staff to find out the most suitable lighting technology for sustainable crop production.

United States time on October 12th, USDA and NIFA announced a $50 million funding for the special crop research program (SCRI).

The purpose of the program is to develop and promote the concept of a scientific approach to a specific crop problem, including the scope of all special crop production. From the study of plant genes to the development of new methods of production, design, and the solution of food poisoning.

NIFA bets a lot of money on high-tech agricultural research, education, and then extends to the problem of human society to seek a revolutionary solution.
